2 Social Media Sites that Should be Integrated Your WordPress Blog

As more business owners become aware of about the benefits of  using social media marketing. Intergrating your social media sites into your website is becoming  a great way of connecting and engaging with audience .  I find myself  looking at websites to see if I can find a twitter follow or facebook connection.

At the moment I would say that  the 2 main sites you should  intergrate into your WordPress website is twitter and facebook.  You can do this by installing plugins that enables you to share your content and in turn enables your twitter followers or friend/fans on facebook to easily share you content.

Twitter

Beyond blog comments, Twitter is a fantastic way to connect with your readers.  You can integrate your blog into Twitter by using tools like:

  •  TwitterTools  is a plugin that creates a complete integration between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account.
  • The TweetMeme retweet button easily allows your blog to be retweeted. The button also provides a current count of how many times your story has been retweeted throughout twitter.
  •   WP –Twitter enables you to publish your blog post to twitter automatically

You can also install WordPress plugins that put your Twitter feed into your blog sidebar, and you can also put a Twitter badge in your sidebar. Twitter can be a great source of steady traffic but it does take time to develop it.

Facebook

Believe it or not, Facebook can be a great source of traffic for your blog. The first thing you should do is integrate your blog RSS feed into your own profile so that your close friends and family can see what you’re up to. Next, you should create a fan page for your blog that will get searched by the search engines.  Facebook also lets you put a badge on your website so that people can connect with you on Facebook.

  • WP-FacebookConnect adds Facebook functionality to WordPress using the Facebook Connect APIs. You have to link WordPress and your Facebook account.
  • Add to Facebook Once you install this plugin on your WordPress blog, you can see a footer link at the bottom of each blog post. By clicking on this link, user can add the current post to their Facebook mini-Feed. You can choose either a text link “Share on Facebook” or a Facebook button or both can be displayed at the bottom of the post. By clicking on the link, the user can sign in to the Facebook account it he is not already logged in and the post will be automatically added to his Mini-Feed
  • Simple Facebook Connect is a series of plugins that let you add any sort of Facebook Connect functionality you like to a WordPress blog. This lets you have an integrated site without a lot of coding, and still letting you customize it exactly the way you’d like
