How to remove the default home page in WordPress

How to remove the default home page in WordPress. I remember when I was a WordPress newbie, I would have two home pages,  this was an area that had me scratching my head :-) .   A few wordpress newbie friends of mine wanted to know how to do this and here  it is

You will need to edit the header php file of your theme and remove this piece of code similar to the code you see in green,   (Note it may be slightly different depending on your theme

It will remove the default home page link from the navbar.

Before your do this make a copy of your header php file just in case you make a mistake.

You should then to go to: Settings > Reading and set your ‘Front page displays‘ option to ‘A static page‘ Front Page: Home.
Hope that helps.
